How do i find DNS information about hosts?
Is there a command used to find DNS infomation about hosts like hosts located in ASIA. if so could you please include an example from africa (DNS Host) and asia (DNS Host).
If you just want domain registration information you can use afrinic for africa.
http://www.afrinic.net/
For asia can use APNIC
http://www.apnic.net/
or RIPE NCC
http://www.ripe.net/
to get information about the domain.
If you indeed just want the DNS information of a host the use nslookup. Nslookup is known to be inaccurate though, it might be better to use host on a linux machine. Open command prompt and type nslookup. A prompt will appear >
Set the time out by typing
set timeout=20
Set the type of lookup you want to do (see nslookup help)
set type=all
To get help type in
help
to get information on a domain type in the domain name e.g.
yahoo.com
brings up.
