Is it an OK practice to charge for setting up and maintaining Google Analytics accounts for businesses?

Is it in any way unethical to charge a client for integrating Google Analytics into their Flash site and “Hosting” their site in my Google Analytics account? I will set it all up and provide support and setup automated emailing of reports for them, then just be around to answer any questions they have. I’ll also have to create a Google email account in order to deliver them a login, and that’s where the process starts to feel kind of odd. I’m creating a free email account for them to login to a free service. Is the setup and support really something I should be charging for? Or just not charging very much for (I was thinking a one time charge of $500 for the whole deal, which is 5 hours at $100/hour). This is for a small architectural firm in the Chicago area.

It’s not unethical at all. In fact Google promotes it’s Analytics Certified Partners in their help section. The Certified partners charge businesses to build and maintain their analytics accounts.

$100.00 an hour certainly isn’t an outrageous sum for internet / IT related services. The client may be willing to pay you so that they don’t have to invest time and money into training an on staff person to handle this for them. Your expertise is worth whatever they are willing to pay and the client should decide if it’s worth it or not, not you.
