setting up a IRC server at home lots of questions?
soo i use this particular irc that is temp down
but ive learned a few things about irc and i want to make my own at home
or use one on my webserver
i have gatorhost webserver plan and im going to create a IRC.mydomain.com
but do i need to download a linux version of some sort of irc software to set one up?
is this possible
its mainly for me and my friends and other people to get ideas and share them privately

can anyone give me links on how to do this on a Hosting companies plan and or personal experience on how you did this
You need root access on a linux VPS or actual machine, then install a irc daemon, and then open up the firewall for IRC acess from the world.
